Leading House Asia

ETH Zurich has been mandated by the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) as the Leading House (LH Asia) for the Swiss bilateral science and technology programme with East and Southeast Asia since 2003. For the 2021–​2024 funding phase the Leading House Asia offers funding instruments to researchers from all Swiss universities, universities of applied sciences, universities of teacher education, and public research institutes, in all research fields.

Goals

• Contribute to the development of scientific cooperation of researchers in Switzerland with their East and Southeast Asia peers by developing funding instruments.
• Promote knowledge among Swiss Education, Research and Innovation (ERI) stakeholders about East and Southeast Asia by providing them with the necessary contacts and expertise.
• Represent the interests of the Swiss scientific community towards potential foreign partners in the region.

Tasks

• Strategic planning, such as developing funding instruments and consulting governmental agencies.
• Fostering institutional collaborations in the region.
• Calls and grants management.
